There’s nothing better than hot chocolate in the winter, right?? I decided to try to learn a homemade recipe and wanted to share with you. Most of you guys were interested in learning this recipe too, so here it is.
From: Chef Ahmed
⅓ cups Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
½ cup of White Sugar
1 pinch of Salt
½ cup boiling Water
3 ½ cups of Milk
½ teaspoon Vanilla Extract (brand: Simply Organic - non alcoholic)
optional (but not really!) : Marshmallows, Whipped Cream, Chocolate Powder
Combine the cocoa powder, sugar and a pinch of salt in a saucepan. Mix together. Add in the boiling water and continue to mix.
Turn on medium heat and bring the mixture to a soft boil while you stir. Let it simmer while you stir continuously for about 2 minutes watching that it doesn't scorch. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract, keep stirring and heat until very hot, but do not boil.
Pour equally into 4 mugs. Add the marshmallows then whipped cream, After you can sprinkle a little bit of chocolate powder on top of the whipped cream.
