This "Superfood" is so easy to incorporate into your diet that you’ll wonder what took you so long. So do it, Pronto!
Chia is the Mayan word for “Strength” and, boy, were they right about this one! Chia Seeds are high in Protein, Omega 3 and 6 Fatty Acids, Fiber, Calcium, Vitamins and Antioxidants. In fact, they’re considered a Superfood because they pack a huge amount of nutrients with minimum calories.
Chia seeds can absorb up to 10x it’s weight (the kiddos love watching them plump up in a glass of water!), and they really help keep you feeling full.
If all that already sounds too good to be true, just wait until you hear this... Chia seeds have virtually NO TASTE, so you can add them to pretty much ANYTHING! Enjoy them either raw or cooked. Here are just some of the simple ways you can add them into your diet:
- Sprinkle a few tsps over soups, oatmeal, salads and yogurt
- Drop some right into your water bottle, smoothies and juices
- Use the seeds to make healthy puddings, jams and porridge
- Enjoy them as an Egg Substitute in baked goods
